1948
Yves JOUANEL, set up as vehicle mechanic in Bergerac, manufactured its first folding machine for zinc in 1948 to help a roofer neighbour. With the success of this machine, it was not long before he received other requests from roofers in the area, and so decided to make it his main activity.
The company JOUANEL is born!
Then it was lever-operated shears, zinc cutters, roll-bending machines and beading machines which have never stopped to improve. Very quickly, Yves JOUANEL specializes in machines for tinware and manufactures, upon request, a larger and larger range dedicated to the trades of roofing and sheet metal works.

1952 • the DNA of Jouanel is in construction
After having provided the closest roofers to Bergerac, Yves JOUANEL searches other customers by prospecting on the roads. In order to improve the mechanisms of his machines, he stays in tune with the users and applies the roofers' ideas for each order.
1962 • The company moves to Sainte Maure de Touraine
The professional people for roofing-sheet metal work of the Loire valley represent a large part of his customers too, Yves JOUANEL decides to settle down in Indre et Loire and opens his first production workshop of machines for sheet metal works.
1984 • Take-over of the company by the family group FINHAL
The company JOUANEL is taken over by the family group FINHAL managed by Pierre HALLÉ, the father of the current mamanger of JOUANEL Industrie Emmanuel HALLÉ, who already owns the company SOCOFER (know more) specialized in the design and the manufacture of railway vehicles for the maintenance of tracks. In those days the company JOUANEL is composed of 9 employees.
1986 • A new building for a new company
A new building is set up in the industrial area in Sainte Maure de Touraine. It gives the starting point of a new industrial organization. JOUANEL Industrie is born and then, enjoys a new expansion.
1997 • New markets in HVAC and insulation
JOUANEL Industrie takes over the company ALMORE located in ROMAINVILLE in the Paris region. This company specialized in the fabrication of equipment pieces for professional people in industrial ventilation and insulation enables Jouanel Industrie to extend its know-how in these markets.
From 1999 to 2003 • Jouanel Industrie develops its activity
JOUANEL doubles its production surface, makes investments in a new production management tool, builds new administrative offices and enhances its internal abilities as regards the design office and the sales administration in order to increase its activity. The threshold of 1500 machines sold during the year is reached.
2009 to 2012 • The technological turn
These years fix a major evolution in the technology of our machines with the development of new graphic and dynamic CNC, the permanent improvement of our equipments, the innovations in the ranges of machines.
2013 to 2016 • A certification making sense
Obtaining the label French Origin Guaranteed, implementation of a brand new ERP
Robotization enters at Jouanel for the welding works requiring repetitivity and quality.

From 1962 to 1974, for eight years, the company JOUANEL « JYL » continues its development and produces up to 300 machines per year. Then, being 72 years old, Mr. Jouanel sells his company. The development of the range is still going on until 1984, particularly with some electric universal folding machines dedicated to the metal roof framing and the aluminium millwork.

The company JOUANEL Industrie achieves its first development objective with 600 machines produced in the year. Then we decided for the following years to launch new product ranges such as hand tools for carpenters-roofers-sheet metal workers.

JOUANEL Industrie starts looking for market shares beyond the French borders and creates an export department in the company's head office. In 2008 the staff of Jouanel reaches 41 employees, the export sales boom and Jouanel is more and more present in the European market. The factory is enlarged one more time.
